CRM 2013 – How to include Contact’s Middle Name field in the Flyout


Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 allows an option for “flyout” – a composite field that displays the multiple fields that are associated with fields such as CRM Contact’s Fullname or Address.  In the case for Contact’s Name – it will display the First Name and Last Name by default whenever a user clicks into the “Full Name” composite field within a CRM form:

Note: There is no out of the box support to modify the flyouts – what you see is pretty much what you get at this time.

Now, a common CRM request from users is that they would like to include the CRM Contact’s “Middle Name” within the flyout.  The good news is that this is fully supported modification via the CRM System Settings.

To update the CRM Contact’s Full Name flyout to include the Contact’s Middle Name field:

Navigate to the CRM System Settings >> General tab >> Name Format >> change from “First Name Last Name” to “First Name Middle Name Last Name” >> click “OK” to save the change

    hi, my installation has middle name already there by default, and i want it removed. when i go to the settings area, it’s already selected on FirstName LastName?
